🌴 Retire in Panama with the Panama Pensionado Visa (Permanent Residency) 🌴

Are you a retiree or pensioner looking for a safe, affordable, and warm place to enjoy your next chapter? Panama’s Pensionado program is one of the most recognized pathways for retirees to obtain permanent residency in Panama.

What is the Panama Pensionado Visa?

The Pensionado Visa is a permanent residence permit for foreigners who receive a lifetime pension from a government program, an international organization, or a private company (with supporting evidence).

Basic eligibility (income requirement)

To qualify, you must prove a lifetime pension of at least US$1,000 per month. If you include dependents, the program requires an additional US$250 per month per dependent (as applicable).

Reduced income option (real estate):
If you purchase property in Panama in your personal name for more than B/.100,000, the minimum lifetime pension can be B/.750 per month.

Note: There is no “retirement age” requirement, but applicants must be 18+ and the application is filed in Panama through a Panamanian attorney.

Key documents (high-level)

Most cases typically include: a pension letter, proof the pension is for life, police clearance(s), passport copies, and local health certificate, among others. Requirements can vary depending on your pension source and family situation.
